A Decade of Play, Listening and Community

In October 2016, Bubble & Speak opened its doors in a room at a public library in Stockwell. Ten years on, we are still here – now based at the Brickworks Community Centre in Crouch Hill. Every Monday and Wednesday morning, we welcome children under four and the adults who look after them.

We remain inspired by the long tradition of the Maison Verte, created by psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto and her team. It is a psychoanalytic ethic that respects the subjectivity and desire of each child. There is no registration, appointment or agenda. We only ask for a first name. We offer time, presence, attention and the experience of being spoken to and listened to, from the very beginning of life.

Why Your Support Matters

While admission is free and everyone is welcome, voluntary donations help us keep our doors open, run our drop-in sessions, upgrade play equipment and support our dedicated team – this is particularly vital in today's challenging funding environment. What we raise goes directly towards running our sessions and paying our Welcomers for their work. You can donate when you register for the event or on the evening. Any contribution is deeply appreciated!
